How we use technology

Demand for financial regulatory legal services is surging with the wave of new entrants, regulatory change, and transaction activity. Yet many organizations struggle with the scarcity and cost of high-quality regulatory advice.

We embrace the use of technology that expands our capacity to deliver greater value to clients faster and more efficiently. Dramatic shifts in the software world offer a chance to make specialized, high-quality regulatory legal services more accessible and useful to organizations of all sizes. It is easier than ever to wrap regulatory knowledge in artifacts that also provide capabilities without the overhead of producing or maintaining software products.

These methods promise to reinvent regulatory law practice, expanding capacity to produce legal work while increasing its accessibility and value to clients

About tools and artifacts

Our growing portfolio of internally developed tools are built specifically to support our regulatory practice and are often tailored to specific client matters. In addition, we increasingly accompany traditional work product with digital artifacts that encapsulate regulatory knowledge and empower clients with capabilities as well as advice.

Tools and artifacts can take many forms, including:

  • Software to help perform a complex legal task, embedded with the substantive and procedural guidance about how to do it;
  • Data that can interact with systems to produce behaviors, such as self-updating;
  • Templates, questionnaires, checklists, and similar tools for collecting and organizing facts, complete with inline guidance and data validation;
  • Dynamic documents that present different parts of their content in a variety of formats;
  • Interactive advice in formats commensurate with the subject matter's complexity;
  • Collaboration tools you can use to work with us and other advisors on complex matters like applications; and
  • Agent skills, plugins, and connectors that substantially improve the output of legal and regulatory AI tools.
